Film Focus: 731 Bathgate Nights

We’re bursting with talented young film-makers at Firefly, and thanks to Creative Scotland funding even more young people across West Lothian have enhanced their media skills through participating in our 731Bathgate Nights project.This programme has already produced a series on short films, many of which can be viewed on our Vimeo site by clicking onto: http://vimeo.com/user8423819

These shorts have been filmed as preparatory work towards THE BIG SHOOT,  a week-long, scripted film production project planned for Bathgate in July.

Meanwhile award-winning film-maker, Jen Randall, and our intrepid movie fiends are focusing on learning the different roles within a crew – from Grip to Script Supervisor to Assistant Director –  and the importance of each. We are currently concentrating on the technical side of film-making, spending time setting up beautiful shots, experimenting with camera movement and getting to know new equipment including microphones and cranes.

Please note the following time/venue change for next term’s film workshops:
731 Friday Film Club will be based at:
Bathgate House, 15/17 North Bridge Street, Bathgate EH48 4PJ.
3pm to 5.30pm. From Friday 19thApril to Friday 21st June.

Work will focus on casting, rehearsing, and technical aspects such as shot lists and crew positions in readiness for THE BIG SHOOT in Bathgate in July.

THE BIG SHOOT will take place from Monday 1st July to Friday 5th July.
