Firefliers celebrated the end of the Autumn term with no less that 12 sharings, shows and film screenings across West Lothian last week.Younger participants performed with gusto in Beanstalk, A Tangle of Tigers, The Legend Collectors, Jelly Piece, Christmas Eve-il and Stoney Island. Livingston Navigators (P4 – P7’s) also demonstrated their new-found tech skills by operating the lights and sound effects for their own work and the Voyagers’ adaptation of A Christmas Carol.
Over 60 young people from Firefly’s senior companies (Friday Film Club, Co.LA, Co.B and Co.54) closed the week by performing work developed through this term’s exploration of comedy genre. An astonishingly good night of satire, black humour and parody – liberally laced with slapstick and an alarming amount of whipped cream.
Firefly closes for the Christmas/New Year break from Thursday 19th December to Tuesday 7th January. Spring workshops re-start on Monday 13th January 2014.
Thanks to all participants, families, staff, board members, volunteers, community partners and funders who have helped us achieve so much in 2013. We look forward to working with you all in 2014!
