Young people, friends and families, partner organisations, volunteers and artists celebrated the end of Firefly’s current A Word In Your Ear project last week, with an exhibition of artwork, readings, new writing, live performance and the launch of our F-Gaze film, The Old Lie. We had a tremendous time throughout the Gatherin’ week, and feel infinitely proud of all the children and young people who have participated in this project.
Funded through Creative Scotland’s Cashback for Creativity, A Word In Your Ear has been running across West Lothian for the past 18 months, providing quality arts experience for young people from a range of backgrounds and communities, and enabling Firefly to build a series of new partnerships with local communities, youth services, organisations and artists.
None of this would have been possible without the AWIYE artistic team, including film media and digital specialists, visual artists, writers, movement and performance specialists. We are especially grateful to the following for their exceptional commitment, skill and creativity:
Ellie Stewart; Martin O’Connor; Jen Randall; Euan Ryan; Rosie Reid; Alexa Hare; David Banks; Polly Phillips; Geraldine Heaney; Frances Priest and Jenny Holgarth.
Thanks to all our supporters throughout the past 16 months, project Co-ordinator Laura Stephen, and the fabulous Firefly team. We look forward to working with you again in the future!
