Autumn Programme

Firefly offer weekly drama fun, theatre skills and film-making workshops, arts projects, holiday activity, youth theatre, skills and training programmes for children and young people across West Lothian. We are currently expanding our programme, so check back for upcoming activities near you.

Our Autumn term starts on 22nd August for most weekly workshops in Livingston and on 7th September in Linlithgow.

How to Book

Workshops

Explorers (P1-P3)
Fun and interactive one hour drama sessions.  Specialist workshops that use theatre games, storytelling and play to nurture creativity and young imaginations

Navigators (P4 – P7)
Drama, theatre, and performance sessions. Specialist workshops that use theatre games, storytelling and play to nurture creativity and imagination.  Learn how to develop your own characters, plots, and scenes! Learn the art of improvisation, devising and what it takes to bring a story alive.

Voyagers (S1 – S2)
Drama, theatre, and performance sessions. Fun-filled workshops that use a broad range of drama games and exercises to develop skills in EVERYTHING theatre. Learn all the skills you need to develop your own characters, plots, and scenes! Discover the art of improvisation, devising and what it takes to bring a story alive.

Company 54 & Company 49 (S3-S6)
Drama, theatre, and performance sessions. Fun-filled sessions that use a broad range of drama games, exercises and methodologies to develop skills in EVERYTHING theatre. Work collaboratively to discover the art of improvisation, devising, acting, movement, voice, storytelling and what it really takes to make high quality theatre.

Film Club (S3+)
Filmmaking sessions to learn how to operate, sound, camera, and lights like a professional! Develop skills in writing and acting specifically for screen. Discover how to edit and discover post production tricks to elevate your work.

Young Writers (S1-S6)
Anyone could write a play; you just need a story to tell. Firefly’s Young Writers group can give you the tools and skills to become the next up and coming playwright. See where your imagination takes you and be a part of some new and exciting writing.

Firefly is committed to making theatre accessible to all young people in West Lothian and we know these are challenging times. If you are not able to cover the cost of any of our workshops please email admin@firefly-arts.co.uk to ask about a student bursary.

We work with other organisations and agencies throughout West Lothian to provide pathways into our programmes for young people in need of support. To partner with us or refer a young person please email helen@firefly-arts.co.uk.
